Obesity and Cancer

Obesity is a risk factor for various types of cancer, including breast, colorectal, endometrial, and pancreatic cancers. Excess body fat leads to chronic inflammation, hormonal imbalances, and insulin resistance, all of which can contribute to cancer development. Adipose tissue produces excess estrogen, which is linked to breast and endometrial cancers, while high insulin levels and chronic inflammation are associated with colorectal and pancreatic cancers. Preventive measures include maintaining a healthy weight through a balanced diet and regular physical activity. Addressing obesity is crucial in cancer prevention, as it can significantly reduce the risk and improve overall health outcomes.
