Biography
Associate Professor and Chair of Health Sciences Department at Zayed University in Dubai. I completed my Ph.D. in Public Health Nutrition (Ph.D. in Medical Sciences) in 2008 from the Faculty of Medicine, Gent University, Belgium. Awarded a doctoral scholarship from Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC). My Ph.D. study was part of the National Study of the Palestinian Health Behaviors in School-aged Children (HBSC-2004). Fulbright Senior Visiting Scholar and did Post-Doctoral studies in Public Health and Nutrition at Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Center, Tufts University, Boston, the USA from 2011 to 2012. Served as the director of Public Health Department, Faculty of Medicine, An-Najah University, Palestine from 2009 to 2013. Published numerous number of articles in scientific journals and served as an editorial board member and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Participated in many conferences, courses and research studies all over the world, including Europe, USA, Canada, West Africa, and some Arab countries.
Research Interest
My first degree in Public Health Nutrition from the Faculty of Medicine/ Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 1990. I worked as a nutritionist in a number of hospitals in Amman, Jordan and then at Amman University. From 1995 to 1998, I worked at the Red Crescent Society Maternity Hospital in Ramallah. In 1997, awarded a scholarship for postgraduate masters-level study in Public Health at the Community Health Institute, Birzeit University, Palestine. In 1998, awarded the scholarship for a Master of Philosophy in International Community Health and Nutrition in the Faculty of Medicine at Oslo University, Norway. My Master’s thesis title was “Diabetes Self-Management in Rural Palestinian Communityâ€.
Biography
Dana Al-Hamwi, a specialized nutritionist, received her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Damascus and earned her Master's degree specializing in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield in the UK. With a reputation for results in a short time, Dr. Al-Hamwi is a sought-after nutritionist specializing in “real life nutritionâ€. She is a Member of The British Nutrition Society and in The North American Association for the Study of Obesity. She has been featured on many TV and radio stations throughout the Arab world as well as several magazines. Presentations are a large part of Dr. Al-Hamwi's career; she has given numerous presentations at major medical meetings and institutes. Dr. Al-Hamwi has done much research and she is proud to announce her partnership with Nestle as an advisor on the Nido brand. She is also working as a Clinical Dietitian for The Emirates Diabetes Society and Dr. Dana Diet Centre at DHCC.

Biography
Bulbin Jose is a Registered Dietitian perusing her Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition from Bharathiar University Coimbatore, India. She completed her M.Phil. degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Mother Theresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, India in 2008. She pursued her Master Degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Bharathiar University in 2003 and Bachelor Degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from M.G University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. She completed her Food Safety Certification course from IGNOU, New Delhi, India and she cleared UGC-NET Exam in 2010. She has 15 years of working experience as a clinical dietician and lecturer in various multi super specialty hospitals in various countries. Currently, she is working as a Senior Clinical Dietitian in Dubai Health Authority. She was an executive member of the Indian Dietetic Association Kerala Chapter. She published several research papers in scientific peer-reviewed international journals and she is the speaker for various international conferences. She was a nutrition columnist for various Indian newspapers, health magazines, and weeklies. She participated in television live Programmes and TV shows based on nutrition themes and delivered health talks on various FM radio channels.

Main areas of interests include nutrition research such as Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Critical Care Nutrition, Sports Nutrition & Fitness, Food Safety and Hygiene, Nutraceuticals; she has several publications and co-author for Cancer Cookery book published by DC books.
